P2P

The ability of transferring files from one computer to another using the internet or networked, is what we define as file sharing. The P2P, is what allow us to access media files, some of this include video, games, music, and books, by using a software program that connects to the data your searching for. Some example of these programs, is the Pirate Bay, Redwoosh, and Pando Networks. ""But both sides have indicted that thy would appeal any decision against them, and the Pirate Bay has said that it could keep operating the service from another country"(Pfanner, Eric. "Should Online Scofflaws Be Denied Web Access?". april 12, 2009, nytimes.com)" these programs are not very legal, however their popularity is so broad that is almost impossible to stop them. Today, people can use these programs to copy almost anything you want, from movies, music, or books. "Media companies say that piracy -- some prefer to call it "digital theft" to emphasize the criminal nature of the act -- is an increasingly mainstream pursuit. (Stelter, Brian. Digital Pirates Winning Battle With Studios. feb. 4, 2009. nytimes.com)" Is like committing a crime that no one is aware of; easy and cheaper to get.

Next New

Today, there's many new media systems for almost everything. A new type of media that should be invented is one for emotions. Where you allow to post big emojis, reflecting your feeling for the day. The application should have more than thousands of emojis and should let users create their own emojis or emotions type. It should be like an avatar, that you have to upload something or will show you as sleeping or almost dead. Others users can react to it and post comments, and like/dislike under your emotions. The emojis can be live, letting you move it around the way you prefer. Similar to an Instagram application, but with emojis.

Blog: Privacy

Privacy and confidentiality, is not only an issues with new media, but the internet as a whole. The data and personal information being exposed to infinitely number of people; this information can be  used to harm and inappropriate expose someone's life. It apply even more to new media, because is something that most people use daily. They write thoughts, upload pictures, add their name, age, characteristics, nationality, work place, and share locations. Through new media, people share a broad amount of personal information, that can be use to find or stalk someone. A stranger can find and hurt someone just by looking at the things people share on new media. The majority don't follow ethics on the internet, so the do as they please.

Creativity and New Media

Many of us use new media for entertainment or information, but some, use it to promote their business. In my case, I created an Instagram page to promote my Rent-Car business in the Dominican Republic. I thought it was great idea to advertise my business for a no-cost. In the biography, I included our contact information and address, and using snapchat/Instagram, I created a logo, which I also use as business card. Everyday I post photos of the vehicles we have available for rent and I create animated videos with music to attract people's attention. Thanks to this website, many customers have reached out to us.

Creativity

New media has encourage creativity. Today, people are more innovative thanks to this technology; every second there's a new post, video, comment or photo, created by one of us. Some of these new media are just for readings and comments, but is incredible the variety of topics and themes you can read on these websites. Everyone has their own style and add their unique piece to it. Also, normal videos and photos are being transformed into comedies, "Disney tolerating YouTube videos that turn Bambi, Simba and Winnie the Pooh into rap stars? YouTube users started posting the videos, set to “Crank That (Soulja Boy)” by the rapper Soulja Boy, about five months ago (Barnes, B. (2007, September 23). Disney Tolerates a Rap Parody of Its Critters. But Why? Retrieved June 29, 2017, from http://www.nytimes.com)" Is so easy to edit a video/photo, and turn it into whatever you want. Is like having magic on our hands.

Moreover, many of us use new media tools to promote themselves or their business. For example artist, poets, business owners, etc.. They create advertisement posts (pics, videos, comments) and it help them get followers/customers and also have an idea of how many people get attractive to it.

Modeling Reality with Virtual Worlds

Virtual World is a second life or a 3-D virtual world on the internet. It let people to be creative and imagine the life they have dreamed. By creating a virtual world you can have the actual feel of that specific theme you created. Virtual worlds can be based on different themes, like work, school, travel, and many others. You are in control of that virtual life, you can add or remove the things you want to see. "“The old mailboxes are still here,” he wrote. And Mr. Bard, he added, is “firmly installed behind his desk.”(Knafo, S. (2009, May 02). In Room 100, It’s Sid and Nancy All Over Again. Retrieved June 29, 2017, from http://www.nytimes.com)" the hotel renovated, but thanks to virtual life, people were able experience the old hotel style.

There's always pros and cons when creating these virtual worlds. On the pros side, it can help people or business owner, to manage a specific project and actually have a view of what that project can look like in real life. "I walked a few blocks to my apartment on Avenue A, turned on my computer, directed a small, pixelated representation of myself to enter a small, pixelated representation of Cake Shop, and rejoined the show. There were no imperious bouncers or foul odors to contend with, and no fluids of any kind expectorated on my shoes. (Itzkoff, D. (2008, January 05). I’ve Been in That Club, Just Not in Real Life. Retrieved June 29, 2017, from http://www.nytimes.com)" You can see and experience a real life place, just by going on your computer. On the other hand, it can get out of control and it can be addicted. Some can spend too much time on these games, that they start to believe is real. They start acting the same way as on their virtual lives and on these virtual worlds many crimes and killings happen.

Moreover, virtual worlds do foster creativity. It let you imagine and do things you cant do in real life. For example, many people are rich in their virtual worlds and usually are able to get all the things they want. You can also have human powers that may not have in real life and can create a cities and buildings the way you want.

In the future, every real life places/business will have a virtual world that include every detail of that place. This will give people a better idea of what they are visiting.

Blog Social Networking

Blogs are useful in many different fields, including the work environment and the community itself. Believe it or not, this social networking are improving the work style and leading each business into a brighter future. Thanks to social networking improvements, specially blogs, we can now experience a new aspect of the world. Focusing on the work field, networking are a helpful tool for advertisement, that lead into more customers and business partner, and help consumers decisions. On the other hand, blogs has helped society to be more informed and communicated.

In the work environment, not only the owner, but the consumers can take advantage of blogs features. Blogs, help the owner by advertising the business, while it also help consumers by spreading their word and reviweing the business rates. "The focus of the Web site, the novice bloggers decided, would be electronics, given the reliable appetite for gadget reviews and news on the Web, with a sprinkling of posts on the environment, toys and furniture. (Barbaro, M. (2008, March 02). Wal-Mart Tastemakers Write Unfiltered Blog. Retrieved June 26, 2017, from http://www.nytimes.com?)". Is a way for hearing the customer experience and complains, and this can also help new consumers to decide on the product or service they wish to obtain.

Moreover, blogs in the community can help fight crimes. Through blog use, people can communicate and inform others of things that are happening.  "Katherine Khatari, 47, who owns a coffee shop in Bay Ridge, said she learned of the complaints about the houses on the blog. “You check and see what’s going on in the neighborhood,” she said “People don’t like to fight alone. There’s strength in numbers, you know? There’s more of us than them.” (Wilson, M. (2008, June 25). Brooklyn Blog Helps Lead to Drug Raid. Retrieved June 26, 2017, from http://www.nytimes.com)". People are actually getting together and spreading the word of what's going on around them.

And for sure there's a dark side. Not everything you see on a blog can necessary be real. Every blog is posted by an individual, who may or may not know anything about that specific subject. This is why we all have to be careful with the information we trust.

Overall, blogs are the new communication source and is a tool that can be use for everything in the future.
